Programs
The Port Alberni Association operates a variety of programs to support our community members who have developmental disabilties. We continue to develop and adapt programs to meet the changing times.
Our programs are:
Access: an evening leisure program
Connections: a day program operating Monday to Friday
Community Employment: designed to support individuals with developmental disabilities in obtaining employment
Home Sharing: is a residential option in which an adult with a developmental disability shares a home with someone who is contracted to provide ongoing support.
Infant Development Program: supports families of children 0-3 who may be at risk of a developmental delay
Pathways: a drop-in club house that operates 3 evenings per week
Personalized Supports Initiative: provides services to adults who have both significant limitations in adaptive functioning and either a diagnosis of Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD) or Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
Residential Services: PAACL currently operates 4 group homes
Services for Community Living: supports individuals to live as independently as possible in their own homes in the community
Supported Child Development: support services so that children that require extra support can be included in regular child care settings
